A:Yes, Testing fees are charged per level. Let's day you have been training for a while, never tested for any rank before and now decide to apply for level four in Philippine Combatives™ System: you will then be charged the testing fees form level one to level four. SInce testing fees are collected in advance and are non-redundable, it is very important that you are fully confident, truly understand and can demonstrate all the given requirements without hesitations for the rank you are applying for.

Q:How do I test for Black Belt Rank?

A:Testing for Black Belt Level in the Philippine Combatives™ System is only conducted personally with Guro Melegrito during of the regional events or Instructor's training schedule throughout the year. Please note that testing fee for Black Belt Levels are different that the regular color belt testing fees. Black Belt testing usually starts about 3 months prior to your final technical examination. The technical part of testing can take the whole weekend and in some cases a whole entire week if conducted one of our week camps.

Q:Is there a minimum about of time that I must spend at each level before testing for my next rank?

A:No. At a typical Martial Arts school including here at the Headquarters, we have fixed numbers of classes on the schedule and students are required to spend at least 4 months between belt tests. Through PMAA Online University, however, you have complete access to the curriculum, and you can dedicates as much time as you wish to your training since you are not limited by the class schedule of your school. As a result, we understand that, although it is unlikely, it is possible for you to learn the requirements faster than someone who commits only one hour a day, two days a week, at an actual school. For this reason, attendance is not kept in the online university and the only thing that matters at the end is whether you can perform the given requirements for the rank you're applying for with efficiency. Keep in mind, however, that the belt tests requirements are dynamically designed as demonstration materials. You will only be able to demonstrate them if you have, in fact, dedicated yourself to the lessons featured for that particular section.

Q:Is there time requirements for Black Belt Testing?

A:There are no time requirements to test for 1st Degree Black Belt in the Philippine Combatives™ System. Some online students may be able to put more hours into studying the art than other can. Some online student might also have more background in the other system. keep in mind that it takes roughly about 24-48months to get the 1st Degree Black Belt in a regular school testing.

Since testing requirements are cumulative, testing for 2nd Degree has minimum time requirements of 2 years, 3rd Degree has 3 years and 4th degree Black Belt has a minimum time requirement of 4 years.

Q:If I don't pass the test, do I need to pay the fee again?

A:Yes. Whether the testing is done in person or through our online university upload center; every evaluation requires the same amount of time form the evaluating instructor(s), regardless of whether it is a first time test or a repeat examination.

Q:What happens after I pass a test?

A:If you pass the test, you will receive you ranking belt, along with your certificate of promotion and arm patch to go with your PMAA armband in the mail or through your school(if you are attending one of our schools) Once you pass the test, your name and rank will be officially updated in our database.

Q:How do I access the next level after passing the level one program?

A:Access to the level two program will be done through monthly subscriptions of only $19.95/ month. The option to move on to the level two programs is only available after completely passing your level one programs.

Q:Once I get the Level Two Program and paying monthly subscription, Can I stop my subscription anytime?

A:Yes. Cancelling a subscription and online membership is as easy as clicking a link once you're logged in as member of our university.

Q:Can I get access to the other levels right away?

A:No. Since Philippine Combatives™ curriculum is progressive, we only give access up to your current level. You must be a level two to get access to a level three and so on.

Q:To whom will my belt be under?

A:Achieving rank through PMAA Online University will be under Guro Julius Melegrito since he is your primary online instructor in the PMAA Online University. If you are studying the system from one of PMAA certified active instructors, your certificate will be under your Instructor's name along with Guro Melegrito's verification signature and Founder's official stamp.
